Raymond R. Burris Jr.
72, Mosinee died Sunday, October 9, 2011 under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice at his home.
He was born March 17, 1939 in Midlothian, Illinois son of the late Raymond R. and Dorothy (Hellstrom) Burris Sr. On July 29, 1960 he married Carol Blue in Chicago. She survives.
For many years Ray was a mechanic and an over the road truck driver in Illinois and Wisconsin. Some of favorite pastimes included watching the many shows on the history channel, hunting and fishing, giving rides on his scooter to his dog, "Cotton" and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ray was an avid Green Bay Packer and NASCAR fan and loved to socialize and enjoy the company of his friends and family and he will be sadly missed by the brewers of "Old Milwaukee."
Ray proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Burris, Mosinee, his six children, Raymond Burris III, Mosinee, Debra Kasten, Wausau, Sherry (Alan) Klitzka, Mattoon, Kevin Burris, Wausau, Danny (Deb) Burris, Wausau and Tammy Radzinski, South Carolina, 20 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, his siblings, Norman Burris, Missouri, Russell (Marlene) Burris, Illinois, Bob Burris, Tennessee, Dennis Burris, Illinois, Shirley (Clifford) Haas, Mattoon and Carol (John) Soukup, Chicago along with many nieces and nephews. Ray is further survived by a special daughter and granddaughter, Sandra Williams and Krystal Williams.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two great grandchildren, Kyleigh and Gavin Fochs.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2011 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the Sixth Street funeral home.
