Raymond J. Brueggeman, 72, Athens, died Friday, April 5, 2002,under the care of Comfort Care & Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
Raymond was born January 23, 1930, in LaCrosse, son of the late Frank and Mary (Laufenberg) Brueggeman. He married Lucille Krueger on February 21, 1953, in Madison. She survives.
Raymond was a carpenter and for 25 years had been a print press operator at Wilson Hurd Manufacturing Company retiring in 1990. A veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, Raymond was proud to have served his country and be a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors besides his wife, Lucille, include six children, Sherry (Mark) Wolffer, Lockport, N.Y., Cathy (Bill) Bandock, Wausau, Rose (Bill) Heier, Wausau, Steven (Rhonda) Brueggeman, Plymouth, MN., Lisa Giese, Rib Falls, Amy (Dale) Dahlke, Edgar; two brothers, Elmer (Bernice) Brueggeman, Mazomanie, Albert (Maryann) Brueggeman, Sturtevant; 15 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Leona, Rosina and Rita, four brothers, Joseph, Valarius, Aloise and Lawrence and one grandson, Kyle.
Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. Weds. April 10, 2002 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Charles Hiebl will officiate. Friends may call on Weds. from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at the Sixth Street funeral home.
