Raymond M. Brinkmann
85, Wausau, died Monday, August 14, 2006 at Marywood Convalenscent Center, Wausau.
He was born August 31, 1920 in Edgar, son of the late Louis and Katherine (Keller) Brinkmann. On October 19, 1946, he married Dolores Riehle at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. She preceded him in death on October 11, 1995.
Ray served in the United States Navy during World War II. For 28 years, he worked as a salesman for Mid Wisconsin Beverage until retirement. He was a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post #388.
Among his many interests, he enjoyed watching sports, playing cribbage, spending time with his family and many friends and traveling up north to his cottage on Somo Lake.
Survivors include, one daughter, Darlene (Gerald Jr.) Mueller, Menomonee Falls; two sons, Darrell (Jill) Brinkmann and Dale (Kim) Brinkmann, all of Wausau; nine grandchildren, Daniel (Cindy) Mueller, Kimberly (Michael) Durben, Jennifer Hickman, Krista (David) Reynolds, Jesse and Lacey Brinkmann, Rusty (Heidi) Brown, Dana and Davis Brinkmann; seven great grandchildren; and one sister, Eleanor Fischer, Brookfield.
Besides his parents and wife, Dolores, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Danette Brinkmann; and ten brothers and sisters.
The memorial mass will be celebrated at Noon Friday, August 18, 2006 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Joseph Gyim-Austin and Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Friends may call Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Private burial will be Saturday at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau with full military honors conducted by the VFW Burns Post #388.
