Ralph W. Tietz

Ralph W. Tietz 75, 5105 S. Timber St., Schofield, died Friday August 9, 2002 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. He was born February 1, 1927 in Wausau, son of the late Frank and Nettie (Wood) Tietz. On February 7, 1946 he married Mary McCurley in Newark, New Jersey. She survives. Ralph was a pipefitter at Weyerhauser Paper Mill in Rothschild for 40 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and was an avid Packer fan. Favorite among his pasttimes was baking bread and teaching his family this talent. At the 2001 Wisconsin Valley Fair he received a Blue Ribbon for his white bread entry. Ralph was a member of the Forest Lodge #130 Free & Accepted Masons, Wausau, the Wausau Chapter 51 Royal Arch Masons and was a veteran of the U.S.Navy serving during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mary Tietz, Schofield, a son, Clifford (Diana) Tietz, Camarillo, Calif., a daughter, Kathleen (John) Vercimak, Schofield, four loving grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two brothers, Herbert Tietz and Clifford (Betty) Tietz, all of Wausau. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters and two granddaughters. A Masonic Memorial Service will be 7:00 p.m. Monday August 12, 2002 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th St., Wausau. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at the Sixth Street funeral home. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
