Pla Her Thao

Pla Her Thao, 58, of Weston died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010 at Ministry St. Clare's Hospital in Weston surrounded by loved ones. Pla was born in Laos to Bla Chong and You Her. She later married Tong Xeng Thao on April 3, 1968. Pla and Tong Xeng along with Ying, Nou Vang and Pao Thao were the first Hmong family to settle in Wausau on April 9, 1976. Pla was an active member of the First Hmong Missionary Alliance Church in Wausau. Throughout her life, she was known by the community as a loving and caring individual who always went above and beyond to help others. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husbnad, Tong Xeng, son, Ying Thao, grandson, Nathan Thao, granddaughter, Tiffani Thao and great-grandson, Kingston Thao-Moua. Funeral services will be held at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave, Wausau, WI on Friday, Dec. 3 from Noon - 10 p.m., Dec. 4 from 9a.m. - 11p.m., Dec. 5 from 9a.m. - 10p.m. and burial services will be held on Monday, Dec. 6, 2010.
