Phyllis A. Olson
3102 North Mountain Road, Wausau, died Thursday, May 19, 2005 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born June 27, 1931 in the town of Emmet, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Kowelefski) Novitzke. On November 12, 1949 she married Carroll "Ole" Olson in Wausau. He preceded her in death on February 7, 1979.
Ole and Phyllis owned several bars in the Wausau area. She had also been employed with the former Connor Forest Industries and most recently with Trig's Grocery in Wausau. Phyllis enjoyed polkas and had a great love for her family, especially her grandchildren whom she idolized.
Survivors include her two daughters, Vicki Schultz, Wausau and Sherry (Tom) Lillge, Mosinee, two grandchildren, Josh Schultz and Mackenzie Lillge and one brother Alex Novitzke, Wausau.
Besides her husband and parents Phyllis was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Edward and Leo Novitzke, two sisters, Delphine Berna and Florence Cyganek.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2005 at Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. The Rev. Joseph Gyim-Austin will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the Sixth Street funeral home.
