Philip Adamski

Philip Adamski 80, Wausau, died Friday, March 9, 2007 at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston. He was born January 9, 1927 in the town of Cassel, son of the late Leo and Mary (Joswiak) Adamski. On October 28, 1952, he married Marian Bohmann at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. She preceded him in death September 22, 2006. An Army Veteran of the Korean War, he was also a member of the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post #10, Wausau and was a member of the TD Knights of Columbus George Schreier Counci #1069, Wausau. Prior to his retirement, Phil had been employed for many years as a Mail Carrier with the US Postal Service. Phil was a member of the Church of St. Anne and along with his wife Marion were regular volunteers at the St. Anne Fish Fry, St. Anne Polka Festival and the Badger State Games. Among his many interests, he enjoyed woodworking, polka dancing, watching his children's sporting events and was known for his manicured lawn. Survivors include four children, Mary (Lance Ihinger) Adamski, Eden Prairie, Minn. and their children, Kelsey and Jacqueline; Diane (Peter Tiffany) Adamski M.D., Bloomington, Minn. and their daughter, Elizabeth; David (Linda) Adamski, Hartland, Wis. and their children, Lindsay and Benjamin; Thomas (Mary) Adamski, Andover, Minn. and their children, Kay Ellen and Matthew; two sisters, Florence Luzer, Chicago, Ill. and Alvina (Donald) Weber, Stratford; and two brothers, Edward Adamski, Rothschild and Leroy Adamski, Appleton. Besides his parents and wife, Marian, he was preceded in death by seven siblings, Theresa, Alex, John, Felix, Genevieve, Lucy and Leona. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Entombment will be in the Garden of Eternal Rest Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau, with full military honors conducted by the American Legion, Wausau. Friends may call Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
