Peter P. Wawrzaszek

Peter P. Wawrzaszek, 94, Rothschild, died Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born August 24, 1922 in Minneapolis, Minn., son of the late Casimer and Angeline (Salawa) Wawrzaszek. On October 14, 1961, he married Regina Ostroski at St. Therese Catholic Church in Rothschild. Peter began his working career as a farmer in Kronenwetter from the 1940's until 1962. During that time, he worked at CCC Camp. He moved to Chicago for a brief time working at Continental Can. He moved back to the Wausau area, working at Marathon Electric and Marathon Battery. In 1972, he was involved in many areas at Modu-Line Windows, until his retirement in 1984. Survivors include, his wife, Regina; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Wawrzaszek, Hatley, Sonia Wawrzaszek, Arizona, Marian Pickarts, Arizona, Arlene (Raymond) Suchomski, Harshaw, Shirley Ostroski, Weston and Joan Ostroski, Schofield; one brother-in-law, Gerald (Mary Ann) Ostroski, Duluth, Minn.; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Joseph, Frank, John (Marie), Ignatius (Lorraine), Chester and Alfred; brothers-in-law, George, James and Patrick Ostroski, Stanley Jablonski and Anthony Pickarts. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2017 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild. Rev. Don Przybylski will preside. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family for distribution for Masses or the Endowment Fund at St. Mark Catholic Church.
