Peter M. Gutowski

Peter M. Gutowski, 80, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was born May 25, 1944, in Wausau, son of the late Michael and Gladys (Lesperance) Gutowski.  On November 12, 1966, he married Jeanne Raduechel at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau.

Peter served his country from 1962 - 1965 in the United States Navy.  He worked in sales for the Buyers Guide and was also a dedicated landlord, always quick to respond to any issues at his rental properties. His tenants deeply appreciated his hands-on approach, whether something needed fixing, replacing, or just a little attention, Peter was there without hesitation. He was a true jokester who loved to make others laugh.  His passions included fishing, golfing, and hitting the road in his motor home, with Mississippi being one of his favorite destinations.  He also enjoyed occasional trips to the casino.  Above all, his grandchildren and great grandchildren were one of his greatest joys.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanne; son, Troy (Jen Starkey) Gutowski; grandchildren, Benjamin ( Hannah) Gutowski, Daniel (Serena) Gutowski, Paige (Coy) Moody and Cortney (Jesse Vohs) Gutowski; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Presley, Opal Jeanne, Knox Mitchell and Amaya; siblings, Dennis Gutowski, Michael (Charlene “Tweety”) Gutowski, Xanea Hutchison, David (Jackie) Gutowski, Anita (Dale) Randelin, Christine Gutowski, Jaye (Denise) Gutowski and Corey Gutowski; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Terry “Goot” Gutowski, brother, Rodney Gutowski, sister, Annette Plaza and brother-in-law, Art Hutchison.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 am until the time of service all at the Sixth Street funeral home.
