Peter J. Buckmaster

Peter J. Buckmaster, 48, Wausau passed away at his home following a long illness. He was born in Merrill on August 23, 1966 and died on his 48th birthday. He was the son of Vicky (Ercegovac) Virant, Merrill and Stephen (Joan) Buckmaster, Wausau. Peter graduated from Wausau West High School and then joined the United States Army. At the time of his death, Peter was employed at the Wausau Mine Company. He was an avid fisherman from the age of 6 and also enjoyed hunting. In addition to his parents, Peter is survived by his daughter, Nicole (Joseph) Vera Martinez, St. Peters, MO and aunts, uncles and cousins. The family would like to extend special thanks to his longtime friend and care giver, Cyndi Soczka, without whom Peter would have been unable to stay in his home throughout his illness. They would also like to thank friends Bob Gerhardt and Crystal Fisher who also assisted in his care. Peter was preceded in death by his grandparents and a very close friend, Pat Kurtzweil.
