Peggy Marie Weinkauf (Knoblock), 65, of Wausau, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the Aspirus Hospice House.
Peggy was born on January 23, 1961, in Wausau, Wisconsin, to Dan Knoblock Sr. and Doris (Seehafer) Springer. She graduated from Wausau East High School with the Class of 1979 and later married the love of her life, Randall Weinkauf, on October 29, 1983, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill, Wisconsin.
Peggy was a dedicated homemaker who devoted her life to raising her six children. She took great pride in her family and was a fierce protector of those she loved. Her faith was strong, and it guided the way she lived her life, always placing family at the center of everything she did.
She had a gift for bringing people together and loved hosting family gatherings and campfires. Peggy found joy in decorating her home and made every holiday special, especially Christmas and Easter. Christmas was always a big celebration filled with presents and laughter, while Easter brought her famous large Easter egg hunts that her family will never forget. She also had a passion for collecting dolls from the 1960s and built an impressive collection over the years. Peggy cherished the time spent at her vacation home in Englewood, Florida, where she enjoyed making memories with friends and family.
Peggy also had a love for the color pink, her absolute favorite, and it felt especially fitting to those who knew her that she passed under a Pink Full Moon.
In addition to her devotion to her family, Peggy proudly served on the Board of Directors for River View Construction, Inc., where she held the role of Vice Chair.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Randall Weinkauf; her children, Jesse (Marlo) Turner, Wesley Weinkauf, Heidi (Jeremiah) Dehnel, Angelina (Andrew) Hoss, and Dakota Heath; her grandchildren, Stella Turner, Autumn Weinkauf, Brett Dehnel, Deacon Dehnel, Miley Dehnel, Charles Mistlebauer, Vivienne Mistlebauer, Owen Hoss, and Asher Hoss; brothers and sisters, Jenny (Craig) Erickson, Dan (Jacki) Knoblock, Josh (Jessica) Springer, Rebecca (Jeremy) Peru, Amber Alsteen, and Kary (Josh) Schwie; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Riley Weinkauf; her father, Dan Knoblock Sr.; her grandparents, Norman and Ethel Knoblock, and William and Loretta Seehafer; her nephew, Cameron Springer; and Jesse’s father, Curt Turner.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Highland Community Church, 1005 North 28th Avenue, Wausau. Visitation will begin at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, on Thursday, April 9 at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and continue at the church on Friday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Peggy will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her strong faith, and the warmth she brought to every gathering. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will live on in all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank the Aspirus Hospice House for their amazing and loving care.
“Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” -Matthew 22:37-39 NIV
