Pearl E. Wood

Pearl E. Wood 98, 205 N. 5th Ave., Wausau, died Monday, March 11, 2002 at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau. She was born September 11, 1903 in Fremont, daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Lovejoy) Wood. Pearl took care of her mother until the time of her death and then worked at Marathon Battery for 17 years. She is a former member of the Gladiolus Society, Wausau. Pearl enjoyed growing flowers, sewing, embroidering, and quilting and especially enjoyed spending time traveling throughout the US with her longtime companion and sister, Helen. Survivors include one sister, Helen Wood, Wausau; many nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces nephews and friends. Besides her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by six sisters, her twin brother along with three other brothers. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2002 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th St., Wausau. Rev. Joy Nelson-Jeffers will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. Thursday until the time of services at the funeral home.
