Pearl B. Schwartz

Pearl B. Schwartz (1926-2011) Pearl B. Schwartz, 85, Weston (formerly of Westmont, IL), died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 after a long illness. She passed away at The Renaissance assisted living facility under the care of Renaissance staff, her daughter, and Ministry Healthcare Hospice Services. Pearl was born May 26, 1926 in Wausau, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Jaskolski) Cherek. She married Dean Schwartz on October 29, 1949 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Wausau. He preceded her in death in November 2003. Pearl worked for many years as a Payroll Specialist for Continental Can until her retirement. She enjoyed travelling with her family and was a remarkably skilled knitter, specializing in matching sweaters, caps, and mittens. Pearl also enjoyed cooking and entertaining and loved to spend time shopping and reading. Pearl's happiest role was being a loving mother to her daughter, Gail. Survivors include her daughter, Gail Schwartz, Weston, nephews James DeBroux, Mosinee, and James Cherek Jr., Cheyenne, WY, and a niece, Kay Lynn (Cherek) Halder, Middleton, WI and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Besides her parents and husband, Dean, she was preceded in death by her sister, Florence DeBroux and her brothers James Cherek Sr. and Eugene Cherek. Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau.
