Pauline Wanserski
92, Wausau, died Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at her home.
She was born November 9, 1914 in the town of Reid, daughter of the late Adam and Martha (Wanta) Bembenek. On November 16, 1937 she married Henry P. Wanserski in Stevens Point. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1981.
Pauline was a homemaker and owned the former Nu-Look Beauty Salon, Wausau. Among her many interests, she enjoyed cooking, canning and gardening. Spending time with her family was her whole life. Being a devout Catholic, Pauline was a member of the former St. Mary Catholic Church, Wausau and a current member of the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. She was a member of the Circle of Joy at the former St. Mary Catholic Church, Wausau and a member of the National Catholic Society of Forester's.
Survivors include, nine children, Donald (Judy) Wanserski, Wausau, Joseph (Judith) Wanserski, Pewaukee, Marie (James) Shilka, Freedom, Wis., Virginia (Paul) Gottschalk, Wausau, Henry (Cindy) Wanserski, Wausau, James (Linda) Wanserski, Wausau, Carol (Al) Drechsler, Weston, Dr. David (Lorri) Wanserski, Wausau and Ann (Steve) Robison, Wausau; 27 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn Laurich, Grace Albrent and Esther Ostrowski, all of Milwaukee; four brothers, Ervin (Theresa) Bembenek, Joseph (Marie) Bembenek, Daniel (Ann) Bembenek and Walter (Joyce) Bembenek, all of Milwaukee; two sisters-in-law, Esther Bembenek, Stevens Point and Agnes Bembenek, Wausau; many nieces and nephews; and three special people that made Mom's life comfortable and meaningful, Mary Ann Bielen, Carla Carpenter and Rose Ann Mijal.
Besides her parents and husband, Henry, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Aschenbrener; two brothers, Elmer and Frank Bembenek; and one sister, Delphine Zakoski.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 6, 2007 at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Oratory, Wausau. The Rev. Oliver Meney and Rev. Daniel Hackel will preside. Entombment will be in Holy Angels Mausoleum, St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, and again from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church. There will be a rosary service Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
