Pauline L. Bacon
88, formerly of Hamburg, died Thursday, May 25, 2006 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born July 1, 1917 in Wausau, daughter of the late Louis and Sophia (Wagner) Barthels. On February 13, 1942, she married Cecil Bacon in Edgar. He preceded her in death on October 23, 1991.
Cecil and Pauline farmed in Athens for 17 years until retirement in 1965. Among her many interests, she enjoyed gardening and playing games.
Survivors include, five daughters, Nancy (Joseph) Rohmeyer, Merrill, Karen (Leonard) Simonson, Cascade, Linda (Harvey) Ohde, Merrill, Patricia Barnowski, Wausau and Beverly (Donald) Tessmer, Schofield; seven sons, Dale (Christine) Bacon, Merrill, Frank (Arlene) Bacon, Wausau, Clifford (Pamela) Bacon, Merrill, Duwayne Bacon, Mosinee, Mark Bacon, Athens, Jerry Bacon, Wausau and David (Karen Klug) Bacon, Marathon; 30 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Smith, Wausau.
Besides her parents and husband, Cecil, she was preceded in death by three grandchildren, LeAnn Bacon, Donald Tessmer Jr. and Joyce Rohmeyer; one sister, Margaret Schmidt; and four brothers, Herman, Lawrence, Albert and Ernest Barthels.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Rev. Jeffrey J. Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Ev. Lutheran Cemetery, town of Berlin. Friends may call Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the Stewart Avenue funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Kidney Association.
