Patrick R. Shea
71, Wausau, was ushered into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at Noon at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born on February 26, 1935 in Milwaukee, son of the late Gordon and Lauretta (Cross) Shea. For many years, he lived in Tomahawk, where he helped his parents at their antique shop. Patrick also worked for the paper mill and was a logger.
On December 9, 1977, he married Diane Larson.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Shea, Wausau; three sons, Jonathon and David Shea, all of Madison and Ryan Shea, Platteville; two daughters, Kerry (John) Shea-Johnson, Oregon and Darby Kruser, Platteville; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Shea.
Patrick was a very special and unique man. He was gifted. He could take an old dilapidated piece of furniture and turn it into a masterpiece. He loved working with wood, but his greatest love was for his Jesus. Patrick loved Him with his whole heart, soul and mind. He knew that Jesus could take a dilapidated person and make him into a masterpiece. Patrick was a servant to all. It did not matter to him what your station in life was, if you had a need, he tried his best to meet that need. He was Jesus to many many people. Patrick loved the Bible and had many favorite verses. His favorite verse was Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. His favorite book was "Power in Praise". He believed in no matter what was happening in your life, you should "Praise the Lord anyhow".
Patrick was very active at Christian Assembly as an usher, adult Sunday School teacher, visiting jail inmates and Sunday nursing home services. He cared especially for his work with the Living Free Ministry for people battling life controlling addictions and Shepherd House Ministry.
We, his family and extended family, thank God for his life and the people who enriched his life. That includes everybody he met. A special thank you to those who cared for his physical and spiritual needs, the pastoral staff at Christian Assembly, Doctors and staff at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Family Health Specialists and Cardiovascular Associates of Northern Wisconsin.
