Patrick “Pat” D. Plant, 70, Wausau, died Sunday, May 24, 2020 at his home.
He was born February 26, 1950 in Wausau, the son of Donald and Genevieve (Hughes) Plant. Pat married Jan (Busko) Peck and later, they divorced.
Pat was a graduate of Marathon High School. He furthered his education at the Brown Institute of Broadcasting in Minneapolis, MN, where he earned a degree in broadcasting. In his younger years, he began working as a broadcaster for WIFC Radio. Following his career in radio, he worked as a self-employed painter.
For 39 years, he enjoyed working as a starter for Harness Races throughout the State of Wisconsin.
Survivors include, two children, Brad Plant, Austin, TX and Kristi (Luther) Oliver, Leander, TX; four grandchildren, Patrick and Robert Plant and Elliot and Isabelle Oliver; his mother, Genevieve Plant, Wausau; three siblings, Robert (Joan) Plant, Marathon, Janet (Albert) DeChristie, Florence, NJ and Jerome Plant, Wausau; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald; and his brother, James.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at a later date when the quarantine restrictions have been lifted. Private burial will be in the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Halder.
