Patricia Ann Hatlestad, 68, Rib Mountain, died Monday, February 27, 2017 at her home.
She was born January 2, 1949 in Wausau, daughter of Mary (Muzynoski) Trantow, Wausau and the late Merlin Trantow. On May 10, 1974, she married Paul Hatlestad at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. He survives.
After graduation from Wausau High School in 1967, Patricia worked at Wausau Insurance Co. where she met Paul and worked until the time of their marriage in 1974. After marriage, she was a devoted homemaker.
Patricia's Catholic faith was so important to her and guided everything she did. She had many fond memories of growing up in a big family and loved and respected her hardworking mom and dad. Patricia's passion in life was raising her three daughters. Through her selfless giving and tremendous kindness she created a close-knit family filled with love. She adored her grandchildren and was so proud of them. She put so much love into helping to care for her grandson Mario. The close connection they shared will always be cherished. She loved traveling to see and spoil her granddaughter Bella. Patricia was talented at preparing healthy, delicious meals. She treasured vacations, road trips, and having fun with her family. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her husband, Paul; mother, Mary Trantow, three daughters, Tina (Tim) Gilbert, Castle Pines, CO, Julie Duwe, Wausau and Heather Hatlestad, Wausau, two grandchildren, Mario Duwe and Bella Gilbert; Patricia is further survived by her siblings, Mike Trantow, O'Fallon, MO, Tom Trantow, Wausau, Barb (Glen) Block, Ringle, Mary Trantow, Wausau, Ben (Gloria) Trantow, Antigo and Tammy Trantow, Wausau.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Randy Trantow.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday March 3, 2017 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
