Otto "Uncle Otto" E. Neuendank
83, Weston, died Thursday, August 21, 2008 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born August 3, 1925 in Ringle, son of the late Otto and Mary (Steinke) Neuendank Sr. On June 18, 1952 he married Mary Jane Gureski at St. Florians Catholic Church in Hatley. She survives.
Otto served his country in the United States Army during World War II serving in the Phillipine Islands and New Guinea. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ringle-Hatley Post No. 8342. Otto retired from SNE but also owned Uncle Otto's Bar in Ringle with his wife. Among his many hobbies were fishing, woodworking and trips to the casino.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane, Weston; children, Rodney "Tiny" (Linda) Neuendank, Aniwa, Carol (Patrick) McMahon, Larry "Mort" (Bonnie) Neuendank, both of Weston and Michael (Debbie) Neuendank, Ringle; seven grandchildren, Brenda, Becky, Patrick, Dana, Jason, Brad and Amber; ten great grandchildren, Amanda, Justin, Damien, Brianna, Alex, Foster, Conner, Anna, Dylan and Lilee; sister, MaryAnn Schilling, Weston; sister-in-law, Dorothy Neuendank, Wausau; grand -dog, Ernie and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Pearl Woznicki, Virginia Koskey and Margaret Bittner and one brother, Ernest Neuendank.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 2 p.m. Monday, August 25, 2008 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Weston. The Rev. Joseph Rafacz will preside. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Weston. Friends may call on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
