Orville Earl Yessa

December 22, 1935 — March 8, 2009

Orville Earl Yessa, 73, Edgar, beloved nephew of Ruth Schultz and the late Lawrence Schultz, beloved cousin of Lloyd and Mary Schultz, Dave and Bev Miller and John and Pat Fischer and their families, went to his eternal glory on Sunday, March 8, 2009. He was born December 22, 1935 in the town of Johnson, son of the late Edward and Elsie (Dallman) Yessa. They preceded him in death along with his twin brother, William. Orville became God's child by baptism on February 2, 1936 and confirmed his faith at Peace Lutheran Church, town of Frankfort on June 1, 1952. Orville became a member of St. John Lutheran Church, County Road N, town of Wien in 1971. In 1994, he moved to Edgar and transferred his church membership to St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church, Edgar. Orville, along with his parents, farmed, worked with cattle and enjoyed deer hunting. Following the death of his parents, he went to live with his Uncle Lawrence and Aunt Ruth and their family. Employed as their hired man, he did chores, milked cows, helped with field work and continued to enjoy deer hunting. Orville and his uncle Lawrence found great pleasure in playing dartball. They joined two teams and had many enjoyable years of playing dartball and claimed several championships too! Orville had a great time at the 2009 Dartball Tournament. Loved by the staff and patients alike of the North Ridge Dialysis Team and most especially, Dr. Thomas Campbell, Orville spent three days each week since 1997 at dialysis. He formed many special relationships with his drivers over the years and Orville's family is greatly appreciative of them and would sincerely like to thank them. The family would also like to thank Pastor LaDonna Ekern and the members of St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church, St. Josephs Hospital, the staff of the Nephrology Department, Aging and Disablility of Marathon County, Marathon County Social Services, Ministry Home Hospice and most lovingly the staff of Millers Country Care, Edgar and the owner's Dave and Kathy Miller for all the care and support given to Orville and his family. Orville is mourned by his Aunt Ruth Schultz; and many cousins, friends from the steam show, his deer hunting and card playing buddies and wonderful and caring neighbors. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2009 at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church, Edgar. Rev. LaDonna Ekern will officiate. Burial will be in the Edgar Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
