Orville F. Schilling
84, Wausau died Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Weston.
He was born October 1, 1926 in the town of Cassel, son of the late Aloysius J. and Anna (Lang) Schilling. On December 2, 1944 he married Lorraine Schulz in Wausau. She preceded him in death on August 19, 1986.
Orville retired from the former American Can Co. after more than 41 years. Some of his favorite pastimes included gardening, doing yard work, watching the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers and spending time with his family.
Orville proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Survivors include his children, Thomas (Karen) Schilling, Wausau, Betty Hoops, Rothschild and Jerome Schilling, Wausau, 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and three sisters, Marlene (Milton) Heinz and Darlene Kapitz, both of Wausau and Evelyn Winter, Schofield.
Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one daughter, Lois Wenzel, one daughter-in-law, Nancy Schilling, two brothers, George and Gary and one sister, Armella Bendele.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. The Rev. Gerald Pehler O.F.M. Cap. will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
