Orville A. Lodholz, 87, Wausau, died Friday October 25, 2013 at Mount View Care Center, Wausau, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born June 23, 1926, in Ringle, son of the late Herbert and Mayme (Ferries) Lodholz. He married Loretta (Eckes) Prieve at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau. She preceded her in death.
He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army and had been a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Prior to his retirement he had been employed at Drott Manufacturing. Among his favorite pastimes were bowling, shooting pool and ice fishing.
Survivors include five step children and their spouses, Pat Prieve, Shirley Gleason, Mike Prieve, Mary Tolley and Ken Prieve; three sisters, Joan Jehn, Wausau, Joyce Steinke, Wausau and Lois (Lester) Niewolny, Mosinee, one brother-in-law, Don Seymour, Wausau, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by five sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucille & Edmund Budleski, Evelyn & Howard Smith, Ruth Seymour, Shirley & Dane Felch, Delores Lodholz, Rupert Steinke and Edward Jehn; and his special friend, Irene Nievinski.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday October 29, 2013 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Gary Froseth and Vicar Tammy Barthels will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau, where full military honors will be conducted. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
