Orville Crochiere Sr.
80, Wausau, died Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born November 25, 1927 in Marathon County, Wis., son of the late Ervin and Elsie (Baumann) Crochiere. On February 11, 1950, he married Alice Doepke at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wausau. She preceded him in death on November 3, 2007.
Orville was a veteran of the United States Army. For 42 years, he worked for the former Weyerhauser Corp., Rothschild, until his retirement. Among his many interests, he enjoyed gardening, cutting firewood, Nascar races and spending time with his family.
Survivors include, five children, Carol Crochiere, Wausau, Orville (Bonita) Crochiere Jr., Mosinee, Linda (John) Lang, Gerald (Cynthia) Crochiere and Randy Crochiere, all of Wausau; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Norma Grasmick, Wausau and Jeanette (Ed) Brushafer, Fond du Lac.
Besides his parents and wife, Alice, he was preceded in death by one grandson, William Crochiere; and one brother, Lester Crochiere.
Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Mary Kay Sauter will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
