Orin M. Wenzel
88, Wausau, died Sunday, January 29, 2006 at his home.
He was born December 19, 1917 in the town of Easton, son of the late Emil and Hattie (Buss) Wenzel. On May 13, 1950, he married Lois Justman in Edgar. She survives.
Orin served his country in the United States Army during World War II with the European Theatre serving under General Bradley and fought in the Battle of the Bulge serving under General Patton in his Third Army.
After the war, he attended trade school and was employed as an electrician with Local 388 for many years. He was also a member of the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post #10. He married, raised three sons and one daughter. Later in life, he enjoyed his four grandchildren, Jessica, Stephanie, Kimberly and Gustav. Orin had a good sense of humor, never complained or missed a day of work. He loved helping people if he was able to. He was a true do-it-yourselfer and loved to figure out the way things worked.
Orin especially enjoyed playing and watching sports; football, baseball, golf and bowling. He also loved the outdoors with his hunting, fishing and camping. He simply embraced life.
Besides his wife, Lois, he is survived by three children, Brian (Roxanne) Wenzel, Wausau, Cheryl Wenzel, Merrill and Gregory (JoAnn) Wenzel, Weston; four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, John Wenzel; three brothers, Lyle, Winton and Glenn Wenzel; and one sister, Joyce Wenzel.
