Norman Rheinschmidt

Norman T. Rheinschmidt, 86, Wausau, died Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born March 8, 1923 in Mosinee, son of the late Ferd and Lena (Steffanus) Rheinschmidt. On August 16, 1947 he married Mary Ruth Kronenwetter. She preceded him in death August 1, 1970. Norman then married Margaret (Lietz) Weisbrod on December 16, 1972 in LaCrosse. She preceded him in death January 28, 2001. He was a United States Navy veteran serving during World War II in the South Pacific. Norman was a Project Engineer for the former Murray Machinery Company. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include one step daughter, Mary (Curt) Swanson, Burnsville, Minn., two step grandchildren, Tracy Bakken, Minn., and Edward (Rachel) Schopf, Minn., and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Marcia and Ellen Rheinschmidt and one brother, O'Neal Rheinschmidt. The Funeral Mass will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, September 5, 2009 at The Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, 621 N. 2nd Street, Wausau. Rev. Gregory A. Michaud will preside. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Mosinee. Friends may call Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
