Norbert L. Untiedt, 83, Edgar, died Thursday, October 31, 2013 in Mesa, Arizona. He was born on December 27, 1929 in Abbotsford, son of the late Otto and Hattie (Taylor) Untiedt. They lived in Fenwood and moved to Edgar in 1938. He graduated from Edgar High School in 1948, and then moved to Milwaukee where he worked for the Nash Auto Company. Norb joined the United States Navy in 1949, and following his military service, he worked at his father's feed mill in Edgar. In 1951, he found the love of his life, Audrey Singstock. They were married on October 6, 1951 at the Green Grove Lutheran Church, Colby. Norb was the manager of a feed mill in Merrill that was owned by his father, Otto, and then returned to Edgar in 1959 to manage O&H Feed Mill. Following the death of his father, he became co-owner and manager of the mill. During this time he served as the President and Director of the IDO Feed & Supply Corporation and also was a Director for the Wisconsin Feed, Seed & Farm Supply Association. He retired from O&H in 1993. Norb enjoyed touring with his collection of vintage cars, of which he was a member of the Wausau Antique Auto Club and the Northern Lakes Region Old Car Club. His pride and joy was his 1929 Ford Model A. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Edgar, the Jim Beam Bottle club and the Edgar Volunteer Fire Department. As a dad, grandpa & great-grandpa, he enjoyed watching the kids at their sporting events. He always encouraged his kids and grandchildren to do better and wanted them all to succeed in life. During the summer months, Norb enjoyed spending time at the lake cottage. He loved to round-up family and friends and cruise the lake on his pontoon. In the winter months, he and Audrey headed to their condo in Mesa, AZ. He enjoyed playing league golf and was proud of his hole-in-one. On Sunday's, he enjoyed attending church service at the Village Chapel in Mesa. Wherever he and Audrey spent their time, they enjoyed playing cards and entertaining all of their wonderful friends. In his quiet time, you would find him reading his many newspapers. He truly loved and cherished his wife of 62 years, Audrey. They had a wonderful lifetime together. Survivors include his wife, Audrey, Edgar; four children, Cheryl (Ervin) Mueller, Edgar, Corky (Linda) Untiedt, Edgar, Cindy (Marc) Schlueter, Farmers Branch, TX and Connie (Cortney) Higgins, Edgar; six grandchildren, Tracy Mueller (Steve) Lake, Melanie Mueller, Desiree Beaudoin, Colin Untiedt, Christian Untiedt and Caden Untiedt; three step-grandchildren, Henry Schlueter, Sydney Schlueter and Jack Schlueter; one great-grandchild, Riley Lake; one great-step-grandchild, Vincent Schlueter; and one sister-in-law, Molly Untiedt, Edgar. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, DuWayne Untiedt. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Edgar. Rev. LaDonna Ekern will officiate. Burial will be in the Edgar Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Edgar and the American Legion, Edgar. Friend may call on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Pallbearers for Norb's funeral will be his six grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Edgar.
