Norbert J. Kraimer 91, Wausau went peacefully to his heavenly home, March 31, 2012 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, with family and close friends at his side. He was born March 4, 1921 in the town of Cassel, son of the late John and Gertrude (Hean) Kraimer. On September 2, 1942 he married Juanita "Netta" Krake at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Wausau; She survives. Norbert worked for the government during World War II at Merrimac and Baraboo Wisconsin and had his own home building, landscaping, and construction business. He was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus George Schreier Council #1069 and a member of the Fourth Degree Pere Rene Menard General Assembly, both of Wausau. His lifelong passion was woodworking, making anything his wife, kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends needed. He loved his polkas and waltzes, and would dance to them whenever he had the chance. He always enjoyed working on his beautiful flower and large vegetable gardens. In his younger days he would fish on Somo Lake at their cabin. The last 50 years were spent at their new cottage on Clear Lake in Tomahawk, WI where he loved to fish on his pontoon boat. His dogs, Ginger and Misty, will miss being able to follow him around and sit on his lap. Survivors include his wife Juanita "Netta" Kraimer, Wausau, two daughters, Mary Lou (Ron) Gajewski and Mary Anne Radtke, both of Wausau, his five grandchildren, Mike (Tammy) Gajewski, John (Tracy) Gajewski, Teri (Mark) Sukanen, David (Iris) Radtke and Daniel Radtke, his seven great grandchildren, Bradley, Brooke, Miranda and Matthew Gajewski and Sarah, Grace and Ava Sukanen, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son-in-law, William "Bill" Radtke, and his siblings: August, Henry, Joe, Stephen and Bernard Kraimer and Anna Schmitz, Mary Mischler, Cecelia Imhoff, Agatha Karlen and Dorothy Skrzypchak. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon, Wednesday April 4, 2012 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Wausau. The Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. There will be a parish rosary service at 10:00 a.m. at the church. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Rev. Robert Thorn, Norma Kipp, all the Hospice nurses, family and friends, especially Linda Cummings, Donald "Chubby" Hanson, & Janice Osswald for the support and love given to Norbert. Dad, Grandpa, Great-grandpa and friend to many, we will miss you every day until we meet again. Love, your family and friends.
