Nora T. Hall
90, Marathon, died Thursday, April 23, 2009 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau.
She was born November 4, 1918 in Marathon, daughter of the late Herman Sr. and Frances (Blume) Hornung. On June 11, 1946, she married Julius J. Hall at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1997.
Nora was a cook for the former Skillet Restaurant, Wausau and retired from the former Pauly Cheese Co., Wausau. Among her many interests, she enjoyed gardening, watching television and playing canasta with relatives every Sunday for many years.
Survivors include, four children, Mark (Gloria) Hall, James Hall, Richard (Karen) Hall, all of Marathon and Nancy Hall, Rothschild; eight grandchildren, Duane (Heather) Hall, Lori (Brian) Pollack, Darrin (Kristi) Hall, Tami (Justin) Lotzer, Terry Hall, Penny (Jay) Borchardt, Krystle (fiance Mike Gertschen) and Heidi Hall; eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Laura Nest, Wausau.
Besides her parents and husband, Julius, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Herman, Ray and Ludwig Hornung; and three sisters, Erna Baumann, Amanda Kurtzweil and Frances Lemmer.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Marathon. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Marywood Convalescent Center, Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services and Dr. Ann Fullington for all the care and support given to Nora and her family.
