Noel Weber, 71, 237 E. 21st Street, Marathon, died Sunday, May 2, 2004 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at his home.
He was born December 25, 1932 in Wausau son of the late Edward and Viola (Rakow) Weber. On June 16, 1962 he married Helen Curtis at Wesley United Methodist Church, Wausau. She survives.
Noel farmed in partnership with his brother and son, Aaron in the town of Rib Falls. He was membership chairperson for the Marathon County Farm Bureau for 30 years. Noel was coordinator for the Crop Walk at his church, former 4 H leader, lifelong Cub fan and enjoyed playing and watching softball.
Survivors include his wife Helen Weber, Marathon, two sons, Aaron (Cheryl) Weber, Marathon, Nathan (Brenda) Weber, Houston, Tex., one daughter, Jennifer (Jacob) Weller, Middleville, Mich.; two grandchildren, Shanna and Preston Weber; one sister, Connie (Royce) Wade, Poynette; and one sister-in-law, Susan Weber, Milwaukee. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William Weber.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 7, 2004 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Wausau. Rev. William Carlson, Rev. Thomas Berry, and Rev. Mark Geisthardt will officiate. Burial will be in the Rib Falls Methodist Cemetery, town of Rib Falls. Friends may call Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again Friday from 11:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family directs memorials to Crop Walk International or the Wesley United Methodist Church.
