Nicholas J. Firkus

Nicholas J. Firkus, 24, Kronenwetter, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013. He was born May 16, 1988 in Shawano, son of Julie (Bembenek) Maszk of Pike Lake and Dennis Firkus of Elderon. Nick was currently employed with American Asphalt of Wisconsin. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, four-wheeling and being outdoors. Survivors include his parents, Julie (Ron) Maszk and Dennis Firkus, his fiancee' and love of his life, Tiffany Janikowski, Kronenwetter; Tiffany's parents, Mark and Lorrie Janikowski and their son, Tanner; one half sister, Adrianna Firkus, Elderon, step brother, Shawn Maszk, Oshkosh, grandparents, Loretta Firkus, Rosholt, Myron Bembenek Sr., Sharon and Bill Powers; aunts and uncles, Elaine and John Lewko, New Berlin, Elroy and Cathy Firkus, Milwaukee, Darlene and Todd Pfeiffer, West Bend, Deanna and Bob Goszkowicz, Rosholt, Donald and Georgette Firkus, Campbellsport, Dale and Caryn Firkus, Stevens Point, Doreen Lepper, Stevens Point, special uncle, Eddie Bembenek, Galloway; Debra (Duane) Johnson, Iola; Patricia (Pat) Bembenek, Galloway; Cindi Bembenek, Waupaca; Myron (Karen) Bembenek, Jr., Wausau; Angie Bembenek, Spencer; Scott (Patricia) Bembenek, Rosholt and Michael (Holly) Bembenek, Rosholt; his two dogs, "Moose" and "Bella"; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Brandon Firkus; his grandfather, Carl Firkus; and his great grandparents, Alex and Minnie Bembenek and Lionel and Evelyn Hansen. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2013 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Weston. Rev. Roy Witucki will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
