Nell A. Olmsted

Nell A. Olmsted, 88, 111 N. Bellis Street, Wausau, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. She was born January 1, 1916 in Ringle, daugter of the late Peter and Anna (Tepaske) Hettinga. On March 16, 1935 she married Claude Olmsted in Ringle. He preceded her in death on December 4, 1994. Nell was a homemaker and an active member of the New Hope Community Church, Wausau. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include four daughters, Sylvia (Joe) Lathrop, Gladwin, Mich., Judy (Cal) Herrema, St. Petersburg, Fla., Sandy (Ted) Cram, Fenton, Mich., Kathy (Ray) Nicholas, St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sons, Tim (Nancy) Olmsted, Appleton, Dan (Jodi) Olmsted, Ringle; 13 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; two brothers, Andrew P. (LaVerne) Hettinga, Wausau, Kenneth (LaVerne) Hettinga, Pulaski; and two sisters, Evelyn (Gerald) DeBoer, Lemars, Iowa and Agnes Patterson, Wausau. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Claude Olmsted, a son, Dennis Olmsted, three brothers, Ray, Richard and Henry Hettinga and one sister Jane Wilke. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004 at New Hope Community Church, Wausau. Rev. Larry J. TenHaken will officiate. Burial will be in the Forestville Cemetery, town of Easton. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established for New Hope Community Church.
