Nancy J. Wendorf, 80, of The Garden Apartments, Wausau, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease, under hospice services from Interim HealthCare and care by the dedicated staff at the Garden Apartments.
She was born February 19, 1944, daughter of the late Lawrence and Lucile (Porath) Van Densen. She married Marlyn Wendorf on August 7, 1965, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1998.
After graduating from Wausau High School and travelling to support her husband’s four-year military service, she worked for several local employers, most notably as a secretary at Lutheran Brotherhood Insurance and the Marathon County Blood Bank.
Like her husband, she enjoyed many years of tending to her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. Especially late in life, her cats were her faithful and loving companions.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joan (Herb) Hartfiel. Survivors include her daughter, Shelly (Ryan) Schilling, Wausau; her son, Craig (Michele) Wendorf, Plover, WI; and her grandson, Bennett Wendorf, La Crosse, WI.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2024 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau.
