Myrval L. Russ
92, Schofield died Friday, August 31, 2012 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Cedar Ridge Elder Services, Schofield.
He was born January 11, 1920 in Schofield, son of the late Herman and Ella (Buck) Russ. On September 20, 1941 he married Norma Eckles in Schofield. She preceded him in death on September 26, 1994.
Myrval worked at the former American Can Company, managed the former Log Haven Bar in Wausau and also ran the Deer Lodge in Mercer. Some of his favorite pastimes included hunting, fishing, tinkering and futzing around the house.
Myrval proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Burns Post #388, Wausau.
Survivors include his two children, Richard Russ, Wausau and Dawn Fust, Mosinee, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one step great grandchild and one brother, Duane (Lorraine) Russ, Schofield.
Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one sister, Winifred Russ, his son-in-law, Earl Fust and a daughter-in-law, Carol Russ.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 14, 2012 at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Full military honors will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post #388, Wausau.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
