Myrtle "Myrt" Peters
79, Wausau, died Friday April 16, 2004 at the Hospice House, Wausau.
She was born July 26, 1924 in Athens, daughter of the late Fred and Della (Graveen) Auner. On November 19, 1942 she married Charles Peters in Athens. He preceded her in death July 19, 1999.
Myrt was a homemaker and was also a private houskeeper. She enjoyed embroidery, gardening, playing cards and was a member of the Trail Mates Snowmobile Club.
Survivors include two sons, Roger (Doris) Peters and Gary (Beth Vanney) Peters, all of Wausau, two grandchildren, Jeff (Ann) Peters, Weston and Kate (fiancee, Dan Klass) Peters, Oak Creek, two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew Peters, Weston, one brother, Virgil (Betty) Auner, Athens.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wilfred Auner and two sisters, Marella Hopperdietzel and Sandra Gwidt.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday April 20, 2004 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wausau. Rev. Donald Baumann will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
It was Myrtle's wish to extend her sincere appreciation to Jo and Bud Stone for their friendship and support throughout the years and to also extend her thanks to the Trail Mates and the Teamsters for always including her in their activities. Special thanks to the Hospice House staff for the care and concern given to Myrtle during her time with them.
