Myron L. Simonson

Myron L. Simonson 82, 902 McIndoe Street, Wausau died Thursday, February 23, 2006 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born April 26, 1923 in Wausau, son of the late Myron and Gertrude (Dionne) Simonson. On March 20, 1948 he married Joyce O. Nelson in Milwaukee. She survives. Myron worked at the former American Can Co. for over 32 years. Some of his favorite pastimes included all types of sporting events, fishing, traveling to see his children and making the most out of the time he spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also had a love for all types of animals, especially dogs. Myron proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII in the Intelligence Department in Washington, D.C. Survivors include his wife, Joyce O. Simonson, Wausau, his children, Linda (Gaylen) Husbyn, Cannon Falls, Minn., Douglas (Lois) Simonson, Wausau, Pamela (Chaplain Jeffrey) Congdon, Midway, Tex., Patricia (Rev. Richard) Hildreth, Alexandria, Ky., ten grandchildren, Christopher Simonson, Tiara Simonson-Wold, Laura and Lisa Helgeson, Nathanial, Micha and Jacob Hildreth, Amy, Katie and Jennifer Congdon and five great grandchildren, Nikolas, Cody and Conner Simonson and Jonathon and Benjamin Helgeson. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Simonson. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2006 at Christian Assembly-Assemblies of God, 400 Grand Avenue, Wausau. The Rev. Dennis Romine will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
