Myron George Grassl, 80, of Edgar, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at home, surrounded by family and under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born on April 14, 1944 to George and Hilda (Zeller) Grassl. Myron grew up on the family farm in Blenker, Wisconsin and graduated from Auburndale High School in 1962. He started his automotive and trucking career hauling milk for the East Auburndale Cheese Factory.
Myron married Betty Zgarlicki in 1965 and they had three children, Joe, Bob, and Kris. Shortly after, in 1967, they moved to Wisconsin Rapids where Myron continued to drive truck. In 1974 he was married to Juanita Stertz and they had a daughter, Laura. Eventually they moved to Wausau where Myron continued to drive semi-truck and later he bought a farm in the Poniatowski area. He continued trucking while running the farm and retired from trucking in 2009.
Survivors include his better half, Linda Bergman; grandson, Terrell; and four children.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski, with Rev. Alan Wierzba presiding. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service all at the church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com.
