Myron Lee Fafford

Myron Lee Fafford 85, Ironwood, Mich., died Weds. August 13, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born at home, February 17, 1923, in Saxon, son of the late Edward and Ada (Fountain) Fafford. On January 19, 1946, he married Norma Wassgren at St. Anne's Rectory, Saxon. She preceded him in death November 2, 1950. He married Fern Oliver on June 6, 1955 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Montreal. She preceded him in death November 7, 1996. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army. Prior to his retirement, Myron had been employed as a grocery manager at Erspamers Grocery Store, Hurley. Survivors include his children, Suzanne (Jack) Banach, Frederick, Maryland, Kenneth Fafford, Edwardsville, Ill., Norma (Jack) Kipp, Wausau, Polly (Ed) DuRose, Roseville, Minn., Mary (Randy) Ahnen, Bessemer, Mich., 11 granddaughters, two great grandsons, one sister, Elaine Larson, Ironwood, Mich. and nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday August 29, 2008 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Ironwood, Mich. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, where full military honors will be conducted.
