Myron M. Edens
Myron M. Edens, 86, Wausau, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, at Cedar Creek Manor, Kronenwetter.
He was born July 20, 1920, in Lugerville, son of the late William and Amanda (Pagel) Edens. On Nov. 22, 1947, he married Elsie Weisskopf in Merrill. She preceded him in death in August 1987. On Oct. 22, 1988, he married Arline Mattmiller in Wausau. She survives.
Myron was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps. He was a life member of both the American Legion Montgomery-Plant Post No. 10 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Burns Post No. 388, Wausau.
From 1946 until 1955, Myron had been employed as the terminal manager for Clintonville Transfer, Wausau. Until his retirement in 1979, he was the shipping supervisor for Wausau Papers. He was a past member of the Jaycees, enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending winters in Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Arline, Wausau; children, James (Tammy) Edens, LaCrescent, Minn., Sharon (William) Fish, Rothschild, and Joan Edens, Stevens Point; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Dan (Erin) Fish and their son, Evan, Laurie Fish, and Brian and Mark Edens; stepchildren, Michael (Lori) Mattmiller, Patrick (Cheryl) Mattmiller, all of Rice Lake, and Bradley Mattmiller, Venezuela; stepgrandchildren, Brian, Eric and Brett Mattmiller, Jennifer and Christine Mattmiller, Jed and Gena Mattmiller, Alicia Pannier and Kari Mattmiller; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Cole Pannier and Alexis Cunningham. Besides his parents and wife, Elsie, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Mark Mattmiller; and two brothers, Earl and Everett Edens.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2007, at Christ Lutheran Church, Townline Road, Wausau. The Rev. Arleigh Lutz will officiate. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the owners and staff of Cedar Creek Manor for their loving care and support during Myron's time with them.
