Mollie Podrez

October 20, 1920 — September 19, 2024

On Thursday, September 19, 2024 Mollie Podrez left us to live with Jesus.  She was born in Renville, MN to Henry and Amelia (Gerlach) Albrecht on October 20, 1920.

Mollie was a wonder, astounding everyone with her good health and zest for life, even as the years passed by.

Mollie grew up in a family of ten children, laying the foundation of a generous loving spirit, family closeness, integrity, wholesome living, an unwavering work ethic, and life-long love of dancing.

These attributes would serve her well when she married Edward Podrez on September 27, 1939.  During seventy-one years together, they undertook such enterprises as a Kaiser-Frazer dealership and later a Ford dealership, Down-Town Tap, property management and investment ventures.  Mollie also fit in 23 years of retail.

Sadly, Edward passed in 2010.  She is survived by their devoted children, Nancy (Jim) Chesley, Mary Seeley and Helen (Benno) Lang; eight wonderful grandchildren, Todd (Amanda) Chesley, Wendy Womack, Mark (Linda) Seeley, Jeff (Julie) Seeley, Brian (Assagi) Seeley, Jim Lang, Bonnie (Jeff) Pagel and Randy (Amy) Lang; and nine terrific great-grandchildren, Alex, Haley, Jacob, Megan, Emi, Jackie, Jarrett, Katrina and Ashley.  Mollie is further survivied by one sister, Pauline Wiles of Toledo, OH; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Edward, she was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Ron Seeley; and eight siblings.

All remember Mollie’s kindness, helpful spirit, and extraordinary generosity.  She reveled in their successes and happiness.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Tom Lindner will preside. Entombment will be at the Holy Angels Mausoleum, St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau.  Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.

The family would like to thank Interim Hospice, especially Brittany, and the staff at Mountain Terrace for their care and compassion during this difficult time.  The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Father Tom Lindner for all your care, kindness and support for Mollie.
