Minna E. Usadel
97, Wausau, formerly of Edgar, was born to eternal life Wednesday, December 27, 2006 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Stone Crest, Wausau.
She was born February 24, 1909 near Stratford, youngest daughter of the late Otto and Emma (Bauman) Usadel.
Minna graduated from Edgar High School and furthered her education at the Capitol University Conservatory of Music in Columbus, Ohio, studying piano and organ. She taught piano for many years. In January of 1943, Minna began working for the United States Treasury, Bureau of Public Debt in Chicago, Ill. She transferred to the Fifth Army Headquarters in Chicago, working there for 22 years. Her next occupation led her to Fort Halabird, Baltimore, Md., where she was employed for nine years before retirement. Minna returned to Edgar and spent her later years at 801 Parcher Street, Wausau.
Survivors include, one nephew, Warren (Veronica) Ohm, Great Falls, Mont.; and extended family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Alfred Usadel; and three sisters, Cora Ohm, Olga Otto and Adelia Schmidt.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2006 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Edgar. Rev. LaDonna Ekern will officiate. Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Stephen Lutheran Church.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Gardens and Stone Crest, Wausau for their loving care and support extended to Minna and her family over the past few years.
