Milton Lyle Weiler

Milton Lyle Weiler, age 71, died November 2, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield, surrounded by his family. Milt was born August 22, 1941 in Little Black, Wisconsin, to the late Helen (Lueck) Weiler and Nick Weiler. He grew up in Milwaukee, and graduated from Solomon Juneau High School. Milt was joined in marriage to his high school sweetheart Dianne Schoknecht on September 9, 1961 at St. Mathias Catholic Church, Milwaukee. Together they enjoyed 51 adventurous years of marriage. He is survived by his wife, Dianne and their three children, Kent (Jane Novitzke), Yvonne Weiler, and Lynette (Bob Graveen); three granddaughters, Andrea, Alison and Jude; his father, Nick Weiler; siblings, Dave (Gale Simpson), Mary (Gary Pesarchick) and Randy (Jolie Esselman) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen, and his brothers Jim and Roger Weiler. Beloved son, brother and husband; adored father, grandfather and uncle. His primary focus was always his family. Milt served three years in the 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper in Okinawa, Japan and Vietnam. After moving to Edgar in 1970, he enjoyed 40 years as the owner and operator of the Edgar Hardware Hank store. Devoted to his family; supportive to anyone in need of help, advice and hard work; an avid hunter, time spent at the "hunting shack" offered many enjoyable moments over the years; an avid snowmobiler, riding thousands of miles throughout Wisconsin and Michigan with his wife; an ardent collector of pocket watches. He enjoyed time spent at the cabin entertaining family and friends. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of St. Joseph Hospital of Marshfield, as well as the heartfelt, exceptional care given by Dr. Tom Stoffel of Edgar. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 8, 2012 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. The Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 312 Caroline Street, Athens, and again on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
