Millard Schultz

Millard "Mil" L. Schultz, 74, Wausau, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital after a long illness. Born July 9, 1937, fireworks were always crackling in celebration every year. After college, Mil's father helped him get a job at Wausau Papers as an electrician. He worked his way through the ranks to Head Electrician and retired after 40 years of service. Mil and his wife Rita were also the former owners of Wein & Speisen, a German restaurant in Wausau. He will always be remembered as an avid fisherman, philosopher of the great unknown, and storyteller, with a snappy temper to boot. We will picture him in his blue jeans, cowboy hat and boots playing his guitar among a grimacing audience. He had a great love for the Wood Ducks along the riverbanks, and the Muskies eluding him in the waters just a few paces off his back porch. Mil will never be forgotten by his wife, Rita (Evans) Schultz, Wausau, his brother Ray (Joan) Schultz, Beloit, his children, Autumn (Jim) Reno, St. Louis, Evan (Connie) Schultz, Oregon, Matt (Melissa) Schultz, Madison, Erin (Brian) Ralls, Wausau and step-children Gene (Terri) Husky, Independence, IA, Lynn Vander Waal, Mosinee. He had 10 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Schultz, his mother Valrene (Damp) Schultz and brother Gerald Schultz. A memorial service will be held at Noon on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family of Mil.
