Mildred E. Wiese

Mildred E. Wiese 71, 7054 Hwy. 97, Athens, died Monday December 3, 2001 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. She was born February 20, 1930 in Edgar, daughter of the late Martin and Mary (Halkowitz) Schmidt. On September 20, 1950 she married Reinhart Wiese in Marathon. He survives. For the past five years, Mildred had been employed as a cook at Little Caesar's, Medford, the Courtyard by Marriott, Wausau and St. Anthony Retreat Center, Marathon. She enjoyed cooking , with homemade potato pancakes being her specialty and a favorite of her family. Mildred was a hard worker and enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Reinhart, six children, Mary (Roger) Mittenzwei, Marathon, Martin (Gail) Wiese, Athens, Judy (Solomon) Davis, Bedford, Ind., Walter (Carla) Wiese, Athens, Pauline (Merrill) Schield, Schofield, Wanda (Rick) Venzke, Athens, 16 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one sister, Cecelia (Carlton) Frank, Athens. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday December 6, 2001 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call on Weds. From 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again on Thurs. from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 6:30 p.m. Weds. at the Athens funeral home.
