Mildred A. Felch
65, 5903 Tricia Avenue, Schofield, died Friday, January 19, 2007 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital after a long bout with cancer.
She was born July 1, 1941 in the town of Cleveland, daughter of the late Hugo and Esther (Hagen) Kipp. Millie was born from German heritage, which was evident in her love of polkas, her strong will, and her zest for life. In July 1961 she married Edward L. Felch in Stratford. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1984.
Mildred was a 1959 graduate of Stratford High School. For over 20 years she was a head baker for the D.C. Everest School District. She spent her entire life caring more about the needs of others rather than her own. From baking literally hundreds of thousands of cookies for the children of D.C. Everest School District to teaching Sunday school for over 20 years at Grace United Church of Christ, she always enjoyed giving. Her skills in the kitchen were rivaled by her green thumb in her beautiful gardens where she spent most of her time. The little things in life meant so much to her such as a cardinal perched in a tree, the laughter of her grandchildren, liver and onions, and the sound of a whippoorwill echoing across Starrett to name a few. Some of Mildred's favorite activities included making crafts, gardening, fishing, camping and reading.
Survivors include her three sons, Todd (Leslie) Felch, Wausau, Gill Felch, Schofield and Chad (Jennifer) Felch, Mosinee, her grandchildren, Kelley and Ashley Eckhoff, Michelle, Savannah, Chloe and Brayden Felch, her siblings, Allene (Frank) Mueller, Stratford, Elaine (Allen) Mueller, Edgar and Dianne (Duwayne Polivka) Emon, Stratford.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son Scott and one brother William.
She fought the good fight and left it all on the field. She made all those around her proud and she will be forever remembered and missed.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Grace United Church of Christ, Wausau. The Rev. Wayne Drueck will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
