Michele Charney (nee Genteman) was called home to heaven on Sunday, November 3, 2024.
Michele was born in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to William and Linda Genteman, on March 12, 1969. Her family settled in Waukesha, where she attended Waukesha South High School. After graduation, Michele became a licensed beautician and worked as a hair stylist. She then landed jobs in the mortgage industry, working in California, Florida, and St. Louis, Missouri. In 2001, she returned to Wisconsin to be closer to family, and during this time and for many years after, she enjoyed spending time on the water fishing with her Dad. In Milwaukee, Michele found work as a business analyst and led software projects. In 2011, she fell in love with Paul, and they were married in 2012. They began their lives together raising their daughter, Amanda, in Grafton, Wisconsin, and she devoted her time and energy to being a wonderful mother. In 2021, they relocated to Wausau, Wisconsin, where Michele quickly built a large group of friends in the neighborhood and poured her energy into their home and community. Michele loved to read and joined a book club, expanding her network of friends. She was always quick to lend a helping hand and welcome new residents to the neighborhood, or to host family for a visit. Her giving nature and love for others will be greatly missed. She was truly a force that enriched many lives with her generosity, advocacy for others, humor, and fierce faith.
Survivors include her loving husband, Paul; their daughter, Amanda; her father, William Genteman; her beloved sister, Bridget Hoy Beardsley (Iain); her niece and nephew, Paige and Perry Hoy; her mother, Lyn Genteman; brother, Bill Genteman; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
