Michael R. Stieber
60, Marathon, died Thursday February 22, 2007 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born January 19, 1947 in Wausau, son of the late Edwin and Mary (Lemmer) Stieber. Michael was a gifted musician and received many awards during High School for State Musical Competitions. He was also a pianist for numerous clubs in Central Wisconsin and for the Charismatic Prayer Group. He had been employed at Purpose Aluminum.
Survivors include his children, Ryan Stieber, Marathon, Jacquelyn Stieber, Joseph Stieber and Christopher Stieber, all of Wausau, his brothers, Clarence (Connie) Stieber, Tom (Mary Ellen) Stieber, all of Marathon, John (Joyce) Stieber, Wausau, sisters, Mary Agnes Stieber, Stevens Point, Chris (David) Giles, Wausau, Philomene (Jerry) Kurth, Ogema, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Besides his parents, Edwin and Mary, he was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Stieber.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 24, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
