Michael E. Manowski Jr

Michael E. Manowski Jr. 71, 823 S. 12th Avenue, Wausau died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at his home. He was born November 19, 1936 in Wausau, son of the late Michael and Edna (Tesch) Manowski Sr. On March 26, 1955 he married Nancy Sommerfeldt at St. Anne Catholic Church, Wausau. She survives. Michael worked as a body technician at the former Bob Johnson Chevrolet and most recently at O'Malley Cadillac in Wausau for many years. Some of Michael's favorite pastimes included bowling, playing cards, shooting pool and spending time with his family but he never passed on the opportunity to watch the Green Bay Packers play or catch a NASCAR race. Michael served his country in the United States Air Force. Survivors include his wife Nancy Manowski, Wausau his children, Rick (Jackie) Manowski, Oklahoma, Deb Manowski, Wausau, Sue (Rick) Lecher, Wausau and Neal (Cecelia) Manowski, Wausau, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, one sister, Judy Dettmering and one brother, Roger (Jean) Manowski, Schofield, and his best buddy, Reebok. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son Eugene Manowski. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2008 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. The Rev. Gerald Pehler O.F. M. Cap. will preside. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Sixth Street funeral home. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Michael's name.
