Michael ''Mike'' Knetter

Michael 'Mike' Knetter 85, Edgar, died Monday February 24, 2003 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. He was born September 25, 1917 in the town of Cassel, son of the late Frank and Rose (Domkowski) Knetter. On October 28, 1941 he married Rose Brzezinski in Wausau. She survives. The Knetter's were dairy farmer's in the town of Emmet prior to their retirement in 1979. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and served on their parish council. Among his favorite things to do were attending auctions, working with his horses, cooking maple syrup and playing cards. Mike was good with tinkering, repairing and working with his hands. Above all, time spent with his family was most important to him. Survivors include his wife, Rose Knetter, Edgar, seven children, Duane (Diane) Knetter, Edgar, Jane Karlen, Tomahawk, Steve (Betty) Knetter, Allan Knetter, Tom (Maureen) Knetter, Joyce (John) Kaiser and Janice (Larry) Wendtland, all of Edgar; 24 grandchildren, Laurie (Larry) Kramer, Dawn (Douglas) Scott, Dan (Julie) Knetter, Lance Knetter, Jeff (Jackie) Karlen, Keith (Cindy) Karlen, Chris Karlen, Brian Knetter, Kathy Knetter, Mary Knetter, Paul (Renee) Knetter, Joe Knetter, Jason Knetter, Peggy Knetter, Jack Knetter, Pamela Knetter, Joel Knetter, Jesse Knetter, Brandon Kaiser, Jordan Kaiser, Candice Kaiser, Erick Kaiser, Rich Wendtland and Misti Wendtland; 12 great-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Mike Wendtland and his brothers and sisters, Frank, Louis, Katherine, Edward, Joseph, Leo, John, Dorothy, Agnes, Eva and Alex. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday February 27, 2003 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Weds. from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. Weds. at the Edgar funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Sacred Heart Parish CCD Program. Pallbearers for the service will be Dan Knetter, Jeff Karlen, Brian Knetter, Paul Knetter, Joseph Knetter, Jason Knetter, Brandon Kaiser and Rich Wendtland.
