Michael D. Johnson

Mike Johnson, age 69, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2025, at Wood Aven Health and Rehabilitation in Wausau, WI.

Mike was born on March 10, 1956, at Fort Riley U.S. Army Hospital in Kansas to Silas and Dagmar (Herta) Johnson. He attended Black River Falls High School and spent most of his life in western and central Wisconsin.

Mike was a quiet man who kept to himself. He enjoyed cars, motorcycles, cooking, and fishing. He was a “jack-of-all-trades, master of none” and liked working with his hands. Mike was also a proud veteran.

He is survived by his son, Rick Johnson (Lindsay) of Wausau, WI; grandsons, Brevyn, Grayson, and Reid Johnson; his mother, Dagmar Johnson of Black River Falls, WI; his brother, Steve Johnson (Vicky Prindle) of Merrillan, WI; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Silas Johnson, and his sister, Pamela A. Johnson.
