Michael D. Cohen

Michael D. Cohen 59, of Skandia, Mich., died July 14, 2012 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident that occurred on July 4, 2012. He was born August 17, 1952 in Detroit, the son of Louis Cohen and the late Florence (Markowitz) Cohen. On June 20, 1986, he married Linda Batiste in Marquette, Michigan. Michael was currently employed as a building inspector for Marquette County. He loved music and was a member of the rock band "Amnesians". Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Linda Cohen, Skandia; his father, Louis Cohen; four children, Nikki Jackson, Michelle (Chad) Reed, Summer Cohen and James (Grace) Cohen; nine grandchildren that range in age from 6 months to 17 years; and two sisters, Marci (Les) Barton and Claudia Cohen. Besides his mother, Florence, he was preceded in death by one brother, Tim Cohen. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the American Legion, 700 W. Bluff Street, Marquette.
